We are what we…drink? Definitely! Choosing nutrient-dense superfoods is a no brainer, but how do we optimize what we drink as well? You don’t need us telling you we need to drink more water, and less coffee, but let’s take a look at how we can upgrade those beverages with a little biohacking magic.
Coffee. Bulletproof coffee - probably one of the first big biohacks to go mainstream! By combining your daily cup of java with butter and/or MCT oil, you can get a more sustained energy boost, and skip the afternoon crash. The recipe could not be more simple; blend your cup of coffee with a high quality fat and a pinch of sea salt. For all the vegans out there, coconut oil is a great swap here.
Water. We specifically designed our new powder sticks to turn your glass of water into a biohacking powerhouse! Pick your flavor, fruit punch or lemon lime, and simply stir to get your NAD+ and glutathione booster. Did you know that COAST is the only beverage on the market designed specifically to boost your NAD+ levels? Plus, there’s so many other amazing ingredients in our formula to help with athletic performance, recovery, sleep, energy, and more.
Tea. Did you know that tea is the most consumed beverage in the world, second only to water? Since it has a lower caffeine content than coffee, it can help you get through the afternoon without the notorious caffeine crash. Instead of reaching for a second cup of coffee at 2pm, “microdose” your caffeine fix with a green tea. Always skip the sugar, you’ll start to negate the positive effects.
Alcohol. While a cocktail is never going to be your health’s best friend, there’s plenty you can do to mitigate some of the nastier effects. Opt for cleaner options, such as a high quality tequila, or an organic wine. Skip the sugary mixers such as juices or sodas, and go for a simple tonic water instead. We recommend taking an extra shot of COAST every time you drink, to help you detox from the added stress on your system.
Adaptogens…fact or fiction? It’s becoming increasingly popular to add adaptogens and nootropics to teas and other drinks. They’re also becoming more prevalent in alcohol alternatives, and natural sleep aids. While some adaptogens, such as ashwagandha, have some well-studied benefits, not all supplements or cocktails are created equal. Be sure to do your research and weed out the BS when it comes to finding an adaptogen routine that could work for you.
